App Authenticity Verification
What “authentic” means here
We cannot certify that an app pays out. We can check whether the app is what it says it is.
- Identity: publisher name, website, contact, grievance officer.
- Consistency: do version, size and package name match across independent listings?
- Clone families: several apps with identical metadata (same version, same file size, same “downloads”) are probably one template under different names. We flag these on each page.
- Self-reported badges: download counts, star ratings and “last updated: today” on third-party listings are not evidence.
Honest status per app
Apps in our directory are “unverified” until we have inspected a real install. See each app’s Quick facts and Test record.
